It is August 1, 2010
Hanna is taking it relaxed.
Most Europeans and people in other zones have holidays now and try to enjoy life to the best possible. They are travelling around like gypsies and many seek for the busy beaches or touristic areas. That is something I, as a Chow Chow, don't understand. Why not taking it easy and having a paradise in the own yard? See that picture on the left. I love it playing with a little (tennis) ball without moving. I love it being in our garden and in particular when my father, Xiong and Kiang are around. When the sun shines we take it easy and when it is clouded some fun is there. Running around and teasing each other. My sister is always in favour for that.
She was also the one feeling weird when Holland lost from Spain at the final of the FIFA World Cup Soccer tournament. Xiong...... Sure you remember the special pictures in my previous blog "Chow Chows and Soccer".
Xiong is completely shocked when she realized that Holland lost in the soccer tournament.
Holland lost and look on the right and see Xiong completely devastated at the moment the referee whizzled for the end of the match. Much can be said about that match, but I think that simply the best won. This time it wasn't Holland....., unfortunately.
When it comes to 'playing a ball' both Xiong and I know all the 'dirty and decent' tricks to get and keep the ball. A pity that Shadow, my father, and cousin Kiang are much less involved. In particular Kiang is mean when we are outside and playing with a ball. Like a tank he bumps to either me or Xiong and bites in our legs. He even is able to pull us over the ground and so we loose the control over the ball. He deserves the red card!
Xiong and I watching the soccer match Spain - Holland. The nerves.....
Another picture here on the right. It was shot during the life broadcast of the match Holland - Spain. Xiong and I are watching the television. See our face expression.
Well....."Game Over"! It was silent in Holland.......!
In the image gallery a picture of Xiong, in Dutch 'Oranje' dressed, can be found. She has stored away all that "Orange" stuff for the next occassion.
Oooh, I got comments. What shall I say? I received remarks that I hardly share pictures of my father with you and that he is so good looking.....<Oh dear......>
It might be true, but honestly I'm not neglecting my father at all.
My father is a true and well respected Chow Chow and 'leader of the Chow-Pack' at our place.
Shadow and a bouquet of flowers: Talking about beautiful....
Look on the right and let me hear all your "oooh's, wooow's and aaaah's".... My father is a beauty!
That picture was taken mid of July and the flowers remind to three wonderful, precious Chow Chows: Sir Beer, Master Pau Lin (my grandfather) and Lady Kaya (my half-sister).
In the image gallery more pictures with Shadow can be found.
July is also the month that Poika, (NetChows) Christina's special Chow, passed away. He nearly reached the age of 16! He and Tippa will never be forgotten. Both Poika and Tippa were the ones convincing and motivating Christina to start NetChows.
Kiang visiting the Vita Texla kennel on the isle Texel and meeting up with 7 Chow Ladies
Oooh, and the comments I got since ignoring cousin Kiang! Kiang, our Big (Chow) Boy, regular told me that he is not that often in focus here in my blog. Of course I disagree on that. I pay sufficient attention on him. My Blog is not a kind of Show Case like you see on NetChows. Period! Besides, I think our Big Boy is getting enough attention.
He was the one who joined Helma and Peter recently to visit the Vita Texla kennel on the isle of Texel. See him here on the right. Our pretty 'joy' boy. Imagine, he met there 7 Chow Ladies!
Of course he was tired when he came home. See on the right the gathering. Not all Chow Ladies are in the picture; probably they went off crying for him not getting enough attention.
Our Kiang, and so much complaining.... But why?
Kiang having the day of his life on the isle of Texel.
See him......Mr Macho Man...or better said; Macho Chow....
Shadow has the best memories on Tinka and Susie there, although he was never there. Both girls were at our place instead. Tinka is my mother and Susie is the mother of Xiong.
Of course I was jealous that Helma and Peter didn't take me there and gave preference to Kiang.
Life is not easy for me and about that you sure agree.
Yes, I would have loved to visit Vita Texla, since there are my roots and not that of Kiang!
Good to know it was simply a courtesy visit as part of the holiday period. He left home that evening sleeping and dreaming in the car.....

.........about the Chow Girls; The SummerTime Blues!
In the image gallery several pictures of Kiang's stay at the Vita Texla kennel can be found.
There is also a picture from a son of Tinka and Shadow; Vita Texla Hotse. His pet name is Panda. He and Bommel (another Chow) were having holidays there on Texel.
Wishing you all a wonderful Summer time and don't get the Summer Time Chow Blues, please!
See yah, next time!
It's me..
I'm Hanna!
