Hanna enjoying the snow
Hanna is happy with the snow

It is Sunday and today the sun is shining. This morning during my early morning walk it was the first time that there were several birds singing and welcoming this beautiful day.
Hmm, spring is coming near. But what about the picture on the left? Isn't there clearly snow? Yes, we had a short period of winter from about end of January up till about a week ago.
Happy Snow Days For Happy Chows! Oooh, it was quite an excitement being outside during these happy days. Typical that humans always have complaints and many spoke about a traffic infarct here in the Netherlands on Friday, February 3. Records on (public) traffic jams were broken. Chow Chows complaining? No, not at all, as long we can play outside in the snow.

Dynamic Meinte
Meinte in action with a ball in the snow!

Now that is surely valid for Meinte. Look at the right and see the action picture. More pictures on him playing in the snow can be found in the image gallery.
In fact he and I enjoyed the snow more than my father (Shadow) and my half-sister (Xiong), although they enjoyed it too.
In Holland and in particular in the northern part (Fryslan/Friesland) people started to prepare for the so called elfstedentocht (The Eleven City Ice Skaing-tour). That is a 204 km long tour which goes along eleven Frisian cities.  Since 1905 the tour went on 15 times. The tour is not held every year, mostly because not every Dutch winter permits skating on natural ice. The last editions were in 1985, 1986 and 1997. Adding to that, the tour currently features about 15,000 amateur skaters taking part, putting high requirements on the quality of the ice. Unfortunately for the skate lovers the weather changed and so no tour this time

Little church in the snow
Hanna sitting in the garden with a view on the little church

Look at the right. The snow made a true nice view possible on the little church which is on short distance where we are living. And yes, you are absolutely correct. That Chow in the picture is me.
Now for those who aren't aware, this month (February 2012) I'm the Chow celebrity in the NetChows' Chow-Chow Calendar. See Google+ . Whooow, imagine my picture hanging in many houses all over the world. Those who haven't, can try to get a copy of that Calendar and you have, as the French say, a crème de la crème selection on Chow Chows. One of them is me! Once I said : No Best Of Breed, nor Best of Show, but simply a BOM. Yes, Best of Mom!

Xiong and Meinte
Call it après-ski! Meinte and Xiong napping on the door-mat of the front-door after a satisfying hour in the snow

Now move to the left. See Meinte and Xiong napping in the entrance hall. How cosy! Now with the winter in Holland there is a kind of atmosphere what normally is see only in winter sport resorts in Austria, Switzerland and so on. Now after a long day being active outside a so called 'après ski' party is here feasible too. And that is followed by a well-deserved refreshing sleep, no matter where….; Even it is on the doormat……
Now the wintertime is in her last attempts to rule a bit, springtime is already knocking. As I at the start of this blog….. Birds are singing and expecting something.
Okay, we Chow Chows and living next door to some cats, we have to guard to the best in order to provide these birds space to sing their song.
We keep in touch!

It is me!
I'm Hanna.
(Think of me every day)
