What an excitement!
Of course I was looking forward to the special day and of course I was curious to see what that day would bring for me; presents, cards and many, many hugs? A Chow-Party?

”Happy birthday, dearest Hanna!”
A year ago, on January 16, 2009 I was born on the isle of Texel (NL) at the Vita-Texla kennel (Nel and Henk van Slageren). Ooh, my mom (Tinka) was so very proud.
There were my brothers and sisters: Jelle, Janneke, Julius and Jasmijn. See about them, as puppies, on “Here we go”. I wonder how they are doing…..
At the Vita Texla kennel one is active with flowers too and very true, I have something with flowers and in particular tulips! Of course…being Dutch and part of the DutchChows’ family…..

The day started, as usual, very early and I have to admit that I didn’t sleep that well. Do you recognize too that feeling the night before a special day? A restless night….

There was my father Shadow. He brought me that beautiful bouquet of white tulips and he congratulated me with my birthday. He said: “Hanna, I hope you grow up to a handsome and wonderful Chow-Lady!” Oh, my father is always very nice to me.
In my previous article I wrote about my (half) sister Xiong and that these days we are not so really on speaking terms. She is a kind of jealous, I guess. Nevertheless she was up-front to shake paws with me and wishing me happy Chow-Years to come.
Kiang is always on my side. We are two of a kind, as you know. In the image gallery below you can see her. There is one picture were she shows that a Chow-Party is about ‘paws in the air’. A Flying DutchChow she indeed is!

There was a Chow-Party. Yes! There was also good food. No snacks, but pure special meat. In the image gallery you can see how we enjoyed that.
But…., but….it took rather long before it was served. Look on the left. Helma was preparing it in the kitchen and she should have known that we are impatient Chow Chows. It was worth waiting. What a taste. There was just enough for everyone, or maybe not?
The party was a success and we had the right atmosphere to enjoy it to its full extent. We danced, we hugged, we ate and we had interesting talks with each other. Further I got from everywhere good wishes through SMS, snail mail and e-mail and there was on the BlueTongueForum a topic about my birthday (thank you Ursel and Sini; also for the nice card).
In the image gallery you can find several pictures showing that my anniversary will never be forgotten. A new year ahead and let’s see what it brings.
